  • It has been very cold in Calgary this week, and also cloudy. So when the sun finally popped out today I jumped at the chance to do some snowshoeing in the outer reaches of carburn park. The birds and animals were also obviously enjoying the sunshine as they were very excited and frisky!..©2011, Sean Phillips.http://www.RiverwoodPhotography.com

  • I waited a long time after sunrise to make this panoramic image of Mount Lorette reflected in the Lorette Ponds. I really wanted to catch the alpenglow on the peak but it didn't happen initially and the morning glow faded as the sun came over the horizon. It wasn't until the sun rose above the mountain peaks to the east of my position that the Alpenglow began. Fortunately I made a series of images quickly because it was only a minute or so after this that a flock of ducks flew in and landed on the pond in front of me, detroying the glassy finish on the surface. The alpenglow was over before the pond was calm again. But I got the image I wanted!!...©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com
